CHICAGO, USA. (July 2012). M-maybe by Roy Lichtenstein ... probably my favourite work of Pop Art. The security guard was nice enough to let me roll around the floor of the very busy Art Institute of Chicago to find the right angle - I only had a remote shutter release but no tripod for the my Polaroid SX-70.  Permanent photo link here.  Original photo properties: Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Model 2 with fixed 116mm f8 glass lens, Impossible PX 70 Color Shade by Nigo (ISO/ASA 125), Polaroid tripod mount #111, Polaroid remote shutter button #112, manual focus, TIFF scanned by Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 scanner from instant print.

VANCOUVER, CANADA.  (May 2012).  Two orcas.  Note the little girl in the bottom left corner, trying to do her best impression of the orca.  Love it.  Permanent photo link (view larger) here.  Original photo properties: Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Model 2 with fixed 116mm f8 glass lens, Impossible PX 70 Color Shade by Nigo (ISO/ASA 125), manual focus, TIFF scanned by Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 scanner from instant print.

EDMONTON, CANADA. (March 2012). Pop art! We rescued an old Polaroid Studio Express Model 403 camera from surplus :).  This camera model was once widely used for passport and ID photos before being displaced by digital. Top left: Coke bears. Top right: Peanut's root beer. Bottom left: Cheemo's energy-boosting citrus pop. Bottom right: Robots are the future Pepsi generation. Permanent photo link here.  Original photo properties: Polaroid Studio Express Model 403 camera with 4 built-in lenses, Fuji FP-100C Professional film (ISO / ASA 100), handheld, sonar rangefinder-assisted fixed focus, bounce flash fired, 1/125s f8, JPEG scanned from print.

EDMONTON, CANADA. (July 2011). City and colour. The emergence of the Impossible Project's splendidly technicolor(!) PZ 680 Color Shade film is a revelation and match made in heaven for the 20-year old, sonar autofocusing, Polaroid Spectra Pro camera with 125mm f10 coated glass lens. Permanent photo link here. Original photo properties: Polaroid Spectra Pro instant camera, Impossible PZ 680 Color Shade film (ISO / ASA 600), built-in flash fired, handheld, sonar autofocus, JPEG scanned from instant print.

EDMONTON, CANADA. (May 2011). Portrait of a cheetah. Also, it's a first try using Impossible Project Silver Shade film. There's a prominent crack and numerous spots in the photo, but I think it adds to the analog character of the shot. Permanent photo link here. Original photo properties: Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Model 2 with fixed 116mm f8 glass lens, Impossible PX 100 Silver Shade film (ISO / ASA 150), handheld, manual focus, JPEG scanned from instant print.

EDMONTON, CANADA. (August 2010). Why Polaroid? Because in the digital age, instant analog is wrong in all of the right places :). While the good people of the Impossible Project perfect a brand new generation of instant film, I decided to pick up a used, 35-year old, folding(!) Polaroid SX-70 camera to help shoot the very last stocks of original Polaroid Time-Zero film. Permanent photo link here. Original photo properties: Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera Model 2 with fixed 116mm f8 glass lens, Polaroid TZ Artistic Giambarba (expired) film (ISO / ASA 100), handheld, manual focus, JPEG scanned from instant print.
